EAS 2015, 83th European Atherosclerosis Society Congress
With the 2015 EAS Annual Congress ready to receive registrations and abstract submissions, we wanted to update you with news about the programme, the venue and the opportunities that Glasgow 2015 presents to young and established investigators.
Science at the cutting edge - We have succeeded in attracting the best, internationally renowned speakers who will take us to new horizons in clinical, translational and basic aspects of atherosclerosis research. Details of the exciting plenary and workshop sessions are on the congress web site, www.eas2015.kenes.com.
Focus on Young Investigators - EAS 2015 has included new oral communication sessions as well as posters presentations as a platform for future leaders in the field. These events aim is to give our most promising young investigators from around the world the opportunity to present before an audience of experts, and fellow up-and-coming scientists. This exciting innovation will for most be the springboard to 'make their name' at a prestigious international conference. To help as many as possible participate in this initiative, we are pleased to announce Young Investigator Fellowships - complimentary registration and up to 400 euros to cover travel and accommodation, awarded on a competitive basis to young presenters.
Networking - Good science thrives on the exchange of ideas and collaboration. The prize-winning Scottish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Glasgow has a congenial atmosphere that lends itself to meeting and greeting. It is compact enough to find everyone you want to connect with but has many opportunities to find a quiet corner for that important chat about your next project.
Inclusive and Affordable - Glasgow is recognised as a top destination for scientific congresses not only for its superb accessibility and amenities but also because it is highly affordable. A junior member on a budget might typically spend under 300 euros in total for registration, accommodation (hostel) and meals (20 euros) per day. The more well-heeled full member in a 4 star hotel could still get change from 700 euros for the entire symposium (registration 300 euros, 280 euros for 3 nights and 25 euros per day for food - wine of course is extra!). All-in-all Glasgow is an excellent choice in these times of tight budgets.
So, take part now - register early for the best deals and choice of hotels. The Abstract submission portal will shortly be open on the Congress website, and the deadline for latest Abstract submission is October 27, 2014. Accepted Abstracts will be presented either as oral communications during workshops or oral communication sessions, or as moderated or regular posters. Posters are exhibited for the duration of the Congress.
